My father in law informed us on a short notice that hubby relatives are swinging by to our place for a visit. Well, a pleasant surprise as me and my helper rushed to put the house into one piece after the dinner warfare with the kids. Cleaning up the traces of food and putting the toys in place. I have never stepped into China before and no compelling reason to do so except to visit Taiwan again and catch up with my BFF Kailing.
My FIL has been visiting Hainan on an annual basis and apparently there is a regularly place and group of relatives whom he go to. So much for finding the roots, I don’t even know which part of China does my ancestors lived! Showed them around the house, showing them photos and ended this short session with a group photo with my S100. I am at my barest moment with no makeup and putting on my favourite tee again. Maybe when the kids are bigger, we might just go to Hainan for a visit. A pity the kids know not a phrase of Hainanese.
I found some info from Wikipedia on Hainan as I wrote:
” the smallest province of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). The name “Hainan” also refers to Hainan Island (海南岛, Hǎinán Dǎo), the main island of the province. Hainan is located in the South China Sea, separated from Guangdong‘s Leizhou Peninsula to the north by the shallow and narrowQiongzhou Strait.
