(Media Tasting) Indochine DIY Laotian Luncheon

I was pleasantly surprised be invited by Indochine to try one of their latest menu which is the Laotian Laksa and wrapping my very own Goi Cuon. I have always loved the cozy decor at Indochine and was tempted to take an OOTD while waiting for the rest.

I gathered from Yew Meng who was the marketing manager of Indochine that this would be a very healthy lunch session. In my mind, I was totally thinking how could Laksa be healthy. Oh well, I was invited here to be convinced right. 
Oops… while the ingredients of the Goi Cuon (Fresh Rice Paper Prawns Rolls) was dished out on a traditional bamboo platter, I was all ready for another photo with compliments from Indochine photographer. 
Not forgetting using my new Canon M10 baby too for an actual shot. Love the daylight coming through the window panels.
It takes an authentic Lao national to show the correct steps of how to wrap these rice rolls. Step by step, she patiently showed us from wetting the rice skin with water to positioning the various vegetables like lettuce, carrot, beansprouts, vermicelli and fresh prawns. 
Being the only lady in this session, I was naturally sabotage to start wrapping my very own Goi Cuon. Had loads of tips as our Laos teacher was happily dictating me what I should put next into my roll.

The challenging part came when I tried to wrap as the wet rice skin was slightly stuck to my plate. Gosh… it looked so easy during the demo and I was talking away but now I regretted but being more observant. Hahaha… I made a bad student. I am obviously better in tasting! Shhh…

My first ever Goi Cuon presented like a little trophy with Yew Meng, Marketing Manager of Indochine and my Laos shifu. 

I knew the shape don’t look too right but hey, I did not break the skin and its still very yummy when eaten with the sour and spicy sauce that came with it.

My tummy was growling by the time we got the Laotian Laksa in front of us. I must had worked too had wrapping just one pathetic Goi Cuon. LOL… 
This Laotian Laksa is INDEED healthy. Look at the amount of vegetables contained within. The soup based was made of fish paste without any coconut milk, cockles or dried shrimps. Its just lettuce, long bean, carrots, mint leaves and beansprouts topped with prawns. 

This must seriously be one of the healthiest laksa I had in my life. I finished every drop of soup without the guilt. Laotian Laksa is available at $13++ as a lunch set that comes with a drink at Arn Nan Alfresco Bar + Bistro by Indochine and Indochine Chijmes.

Another healthy lunch alternative when you thought healthy food are not yummy but Indochine is here to prove you wrong!
