I was invited by Jay Lim to attend the one year anniversary at Yunlore Arts, Soiree@Raffles in Raffles Hotel. There were many sponsors for this event for spa, hair, cakes etc. The atmosphere was cozy with live Chinese musical instrumental performance coupled with wine and pizza plus a photobooth.
A wave of serenity filled the gallery as the pieces are mainly of birds, mountains, monk, temples, skies from the talented painter. I was taking my time to admire the work of these pieces completed with Chinese ink and I must say the inspiration of what lies beyond that intrigue me in some pieces.
The dress code is arty farty which put me in a fix because I have no idea what I should be wearing. Finally decided to wear this shimmering rose printed dress from Theory of Seven with a Burberry belt and black mesh head piece as well as Riccino shoes. Hope I fit the look that I am attending a arty farty event though.
My partner for the event is Ms Sinah from Riccino Shoes. She’s such a friendly lady and great company to be with. Took the chance to have a few selfie moments with her.
This pretty young lady is Joyce Lin from Taiwan who is here to study. Joyce is an approachable lady and enjoys mingling with friends. Beauty with brains. We had loads of fun chatting about the yummy food in Taiwan!
I had a wonderful conversation with chic Felicia. Besides managing the galley, she also owns Flair Hairdressing, which has a team of Ex-Toni & Guy professional hairdressers located at 62 Circular Road #01-01. Apparently she’s a shoes lover like me and was wearing a Charles & Keith black and white heels last night.
Cake cutting time!
Group photo with the artist himself and Jay. I wonder how we are gonna look in the facebook as the background is supposed to be changed.
This is one of the talented artist Xu Shao Hui from the gallery. His works of birds in flight sets you inspired. His drawings are done on silk with Chinese ink. A piece of completed work takes him about 7 to 10 days. It sure takes loads of patience to be an artist.
I am glad to be invited to this event and talked to many interesting professionals from all walks of life. Art is an interesting platform to gather people together. Looking forward to my next one!
